Deadline for comments and objections is 5th March 2021.
The West Edinburgh Link project aims to connect up South Gyle, Edinburgh Park and local neighbourhoods with high quality walking and cycling routes and new public spaces. The scheme is currently in the consultation phase and you have until the 26th February to submit comments or objections.
The northern section of the project extends into the East Craigs area. It seeks to create connections between residential neighbourhoods, workplaces and amenities around the Gyle and Edinburgh Park.
There are proposals to install a new bridge across the railway which runs next to Gyle Park to create a direct route linking South Gyle. There is also a plan to narrow Glasgow Road and change the pedestrian crossing at Dechmont Road to a one-stage crossing (removing the central island).

How to support the West Edinburgh Link
If you support the West Edinburgh Link it’s very important that you make your feelings known to City of Edinburgh Council, along with any feedback you have about how the scheme could be improved.
From Friday 29th January 2021 the designs for the West Edinburgh Link project will be available to view on the Traffic Orders page of the Council’s website. The proposals will be available to the public for a period of 4 weeks.
